Surrounded by 27 acres of naturally preserved open space maintained by the Park District, North Rim provides an environment that is unparalleled within Bend. With homes that sit on one acre and larger homesites, the careful restoration of plants and rocks in all disturbed areas and landscaping that is limited to native species, residents are able to fully enjoy the pure beauty of the natural landscape.
North Rim has developed a set of thoughtful guidelines for its homes that allow this natural beauty to be enhanced by the community’s built environment. In 2015, North Rim became a Firewise Community, reducing the risk of wildfire in the community through a plan that mitigates wildfire risk through fire fuel reduction methods and landscape maintenance. The Firewise Communities/USA program is a nationally recognized program that provides guidance on balancing a healthy native landscape and wildlife habitat while reducing risk of wildfire spread in the neighborhood. Sustainability is encouraged on every front and homeowners are even provided with an illustrated guide of some of the striking species of native and fire-resistant plants that they can choose to enhance their land. With a series of winding pathways, integrated parks and recreation areas, towering mature trees and unobstructed views of Bend’s most spectacular scenery, North Rim is truly a place to experience the splendor of Oregon’s high desert and natural lands.
